In response to Christine

Recently Coca-Cola has come up with a new way to promote their products.  In Singapore one of their vending machines will give you a free bottle of Coca-Cola if you give the vending machine a hug.  This is defiantly a different and inventive way to get their product out to the consumers.

Do you think that this type of advertisement will be successful?  Do you think the company will lose more money on this advertisement than gain money? Do you think they should place hugging vending machines for Coca-Cola in the United States?

Although interesting I do not understand this form of advertising. I guess it gets people talking about the product but how is Coca-Cola supposed to make a profit off this? I feel this form of advertising would be abused in the US and therefore would not be successful. Very creative and I'm sure the pros at Coke now more than I do when it comes to their product strategies but I just don't understand this one...
